To be eligible to attend kindergarten a child must reach his or her fifth birthday on or before July 1 following the start of the school year. A state certified birth certificate should be presented at the time of registration to verify the child’s age.

In order for your child to begin school on his/her first day, the school must have the following in your child’s file:

• Birth Certificate from the state or country of birth
• Social Security Card
• Immunization Card and physical examination form, signed by a physician (not older than 1 year).
• Two proofs of residency: one of these must be a copy of a lease, deed or mortgage, the other may be a copy of a utility bill, receipt for payment to utilities, etc.
