👨‍👩‍👧 Parents as Teachers (PAT)
Our mission is simple- to provide the information, support, and encouragement that parents need to help their children develop optimally during those crucial early years.
Participation in the PAT program shows your dedication to your child’s development and learning journey.
What You Can Expect
As a participant, you’ll receive personalized guidance and support from our certified Parent Educator. Here’s what the program offers:
- We will inform you of what you can reasonably expect of your child at each stage of development.
- We will help you become a keen observer of your child’s growth and progress.
- We will help you find joy in play, showing you fun, age-appropriate activities and materials.
- We will help you become your child’s best teacher!
Your Role as a Parent
Parents play many roles in a child’s life. Here are three key roles that the PAT program helps nurture:
- Designer: You provide materials and experiences that encourage your child’s curiosity and problem-solving skills.
- Consultant: You help your child explore their world and gain independence while supporting their learning.
- Authority: You set healthy boundaries for your child’s behavior, appropriate for their age and developmental level, while understanding their unique needs.
