Notice of Board Vacancy

The Newburg R-II School District is seeking applications for the current vacant position of the Board of Education. An individual will be appointed to fill the vacant position until April 2027 elections have been held and certified and a newly elected individual has been sworn-in to fill the remainder of this position’s term. Individuals interested must submit a Vacated Board Position Application to Central Office by 2:00 PM on Friday, November 13, 2026. Applications are available on our website and at Central Office. 

A candidate to fill a Board vacancy must provide the District with a signed and notarized affidavit stating that all state income taxes and property taxes, both personal and real, have been paid or attest to the fact that no taxes were owed for the two fiscal years immediately prior to their appointment.
