Superintendent’s Message
In his 24th year in education, Mr. Dunn began his career as a math teacher and basketball coach, which led to leadership roles as a superintendent, athletic director, and principal across all grade levels. He is dedicated to ensuring every student succeeds by providing high-quality instruction in safe and supportive learning environments.
Dear Newburg R-II Community,
The last two years serving as your high school principal have been two of the most enjoyable and rewarding of my career. Because of our rich traditions, dedicated staff, incredible students, supportive families, and a Board of Education that cares deeply about our district, Newburg truly is a gem. As I transition into this new role, I am deeply honored to serve as your superintendent.
This position comes with enormous responsibility. It is my commitment to lead Newburg with transparency, integrity, and a steadfast focus on ensuring every student has access to high-quality instruction in a safe, caring environment.
There are many great things happening all around our district! Over the past year, our elementary school received well-deserved recognition for its high-quality literacy work. Our teachers have worked incredibly hard, and our students are reaping the benefits. At the high school level, our students continue to thrive in award-winning Ag, art, and athletic programs, backed by a faculty dedicated to elevating academic success in every classroom. With the addition of a rootEd college and career advisor for our seniors, and district-wide upgrades to curriculum and technology, Newburg is moving forward with incredible momentum.
