High School Principal

Newburg R-II School District is seeking a dynamic high school principal for 7th-12th grades.  We have approximately 300 students in k-12th grade.  We are located 5 miles west of Rolla on Hwy 44 and operate on a 4 day school week. 

QUALIFICATIONS:     


1. Completed a Masters Degree in Administration
2. Certification for the position as required by the Missouri State Board of Education. 
3. At least five (5) years of teaching experience. 

REPORTS TO:  Superintendent

JOB GOAL:  To lead and manage an instructional climate that maximizes student learning and promotes a positive environment for the students and staff.  


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provides effective leadership through a needs assessment, goal identification, and implementation strategies.
2. Establishes an instructional environment of best practices through research and implementation.
3. Promotes on-going professional development of staff.
4. Provides leadership for curriculum development and data analysis.
5. Provides for effective and efficient day-to-day operation of the school.
6. Promotes and maintains a positive school climate.
7. Establishes and maintains effective discipline within the school.
8. Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with staff, students, parents, and community.
9. Supervises extra-curricular activities.
10. Implements the policies and procedures of the district.
11.  Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:   10 month position 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

The most significant duties have been included in this description.  This does not preclude the assignment of additional or supplemental duties.  The District reserves the right to modify the assignment as needed to reflect such duties.

Part time Elementary Music Teacher

The Newburg R-II School District is seeking a part time elementary music teacher for the 2026-27 school year. Our district has approximately 300 students in grades PreK-12.  We operate on a 4 day school week. 

Newburg is located in South Central Missouri approximately 10 miles west of Rolla on Interstate 44.  It is a small, rural community with outstanding students and staff.  We place great value on small class sizes throughout our district and benefit from a tremendously caring staff and faculty and a highly supportive school board and community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To create a flexible instructional program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth.
  • To establish effective rapport with students assigned to the classroom.
  • To motivate students to develop attitudes and knowledge needed to ensure that effective learning occurs for each child, every day.
  • To provide positive feedback and encouragement for students.
  • To facilitate an environment that promotes academic success, social growth, and well-being of all students.
  • To implement a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize the learning of each child, individually and in group settings.
  • To assess student progress, provide students and parents with specific feedback regarding progress, and use the data to adjust instruction as needed.
  • To perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by supervising administrators.
