Athletic Director

The Newburg R-II School District is seeking applications for the position of Athletic Director for the 2024-2025 school year.  Our district has approximately 370 students in grades preK-12 and operates on a 4 day school week.  This position will remain open until filled.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Schedule and contract all athletic events in cooperation with the head coaches and principals.
  2. Schedule and arrange payment of referees, umpires, and all necessary personnel for operation of athletic events or contests.
  3. Coordinate and ensure preparations are completed for the area involved (field, court, etc) in the athletic contest, being certain of its readiness for the contest.
  4. Arrange for transportation of athletic teams to contests and practices.
  5. Act as liaison with community groups with an interest in athletics.
  6. Supervise and assist in public relations where athletes are concerned, emphasizing the citizenship guidelines adhered to by the MSHSAA and the school district.
  7. Submit requisitions for athletic supplies, equipment, etc and support coaches in  this process while coordinating the athletic budget under the supervision of the Superintendent and High School Principal.
  8. Make recommendations to the principals and superintendent relative to the maintenance or improvement of facilities and equipment.
  9.  Attend assigned athletic events as supervisor in charge of facilities and attendees. 
  10.  Maintain liaison with MSHSAA and the conference of which Newburg is a member and be knowledgeable of the MSHSAA regulations.
  11.  Keep superintendent and principals informed of athletic association and conference actions and securing prior approval before representing Newburg R-II Schools at meetings.
  12.  Advise the superintendent and principals on capabilities of coaches and prospective coaches, assist the principal in evaluating coaching staff annually, and make recommendations for coaching assignments to the principal.
  13.  Promote sports, fair play, good principles, and an interest therein among students and school patrons.
  14.  Responsible for preparing and conducting all athletic banquets.
  15.  Demonstrate proficiency in use of technology.
  16.  Perform all responsibilities of Elementary/Secondary teacher as per the responsibilities stated in that job description.
  17.  Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned.
  18.  Order, manage inventory, and stock all concession stand items.
  19.  Schedule and keep a record of gate and concession stand workers.

Elementary Counselor

The Newburg R-II School District is seeking a dynamic school councelor to serve our elementary staff and students. Newburg operates on a 4 day school week with approximately 370 students in grades prek-12.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Missouri Counseling Certification/License
  2. Teaching experience and/or counseling experience

REPORTS TO:

Building Principal

JOB GOAL:

As a member of the district guidance staff, the elementary counselor implements the Missouri Comprehensive Guidance Program for students in grades K-6. The counselor provides activities to meet the needs of the students, conults with teachers to enhance their effectiveness in helping students, and provides support to other elementary programs.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Implement the elementary guidance curriculum.
  2. Guide and counsel groups and individual students through the development of social emontional skills.
  3. Consult with teachers, staff, and parents to best meet the needs of students.
  4. Refer students to appropriate community resources in communication with their parents and other district staff.
  5. Participate in, coordinate, or conduct activities that contribute to the effective operation of the school.
  6. Evaluate and revise the building guidance program.
  7. Pursue professional growth.
  8. Participate and/or lead the student assist team.
  9. Fulfill other duties as assigned.

High School Principal

The Newburg R-II School District is seeking a dynamic high school principal for grades 7-12.  We are a 4 day school week with approximately 370 students in k-12th grade.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Completed a Masters Degree in Education
  2. Certification for the position as required by the Missouri State Board of Education
  3. At least five (5) years of teaching experience

REPORTS TO: Superintendent

JOB GOAL: To lead and manage as instructional climate that maximizes student learning and promotes a positive enviornment for the students and staff.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provides effective leadership through a needs assessment, goal identification, and implementation strategies.
  2. Establishes an instuctional enviornment of best practices through research and impementation.
  3. Promotes on-going professional development of staff.
  4. Provides leadership for curriculum development and data anaylsis.
  5. Provides for effective and efficient day-to-day operation of the school.
  6. Promotes and maintains a positive school climate.
  7. Establishes and maintains effective discipline within the school.
  8. Demonstrated positive interpersonal relationships with staff, student, parents, and community.
  9. Supervises extra-curricular activies.
  10. Implements the policies and prcedures of the district.
  11. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 month position
